House of Nimo started between two friends, Indrani and Anish, in 2017 to celebrate their love for this exquisite wool called Pashmina. Having been avid pashmina lovers and collectors of some heirloom pashmina shawls, both have tasted and understood this material for decades.
The objective of starting House of Nimo was to showcase the classic Pashmina fabric in a new light. The old charm of Pashmina is elegantly presented in a new package. Innovative patterns and contemporary shades have been tastefully combined, keeping in mind a broader audience of pashmina lovers.
We believe in sustainable clothing and skillfully combine stylish design with time-honoured craftsmanship to bring you an exclusive appearance to the classic Pashmina. The consumer is what House of Nimo is all about; we are bridging the gap between the pashmina goats, Nomadic Changpa community and weavers to get quality luxury pashmina.
So if you are planning to buy our Pashmina, do check our pashmina collection, and you can be assured that the quality is all we are putting in an effort. We can ensure you that it is 100% Original Pashmina and 100 % Made in Ladakh product delivered to you, which is the only finest pashmina source globally.
Our products are ethically made & sustainably sourced. To provide a platform for our artisans to showcase their skills and creativity, we collaborate with the nomads of the changthang region exclusively and ensure they are paid fairly for their expertise and craftsmanship. For us, planet, people and any living creature come before profit, and we are committed to providing ethical and sustainable clothing.
At House Of Nimo, all our stoles, scarves, shawls and every merchandise made with 100% natural pashmina yarn: premium quality – luxurious pashmina.
All our pashminas are made from Ladakhi Changthangi goat at the Himalayas high plateau, where the goats roam freely.
As we work with the nomads of changthang, they are also committed to providing the goats with a cruelty-free life; they treat them as family and collect pashmina wool by hand-combing at the time of shedding which happens at the right time of the year during summers.
The dyes we use are always azo-free and plant-based dyes that don’t have any negative environmental impact on our planet.
Sustainably sourced pashmina and ethical labour often come at a premium; we call it slow fashion because every product takes time to be made and will be there with you for generations.
Yet, as the stewards of the Earth, we are delighted to bring back the fondness of the finest fabric and assume our responsibility towards the environment and the empowerment of our fellow people seriously.
SLOW FASHION - EXQUISITE QUALITY
What is luxury? In simple words, anything made especially for you and that to handcrafted and a quality product that lasts is a luxury.
I prefer quality over quantity.
We praise the slow sustainable fashion theory in which every item serves a tenacity and is made well to last. We combine the movement by introducing the slow sustainable fashion theory into every piece of our merchandise. Our artisans passionately made each item to make you feel unique and put in additional effort to ensure our pieces are made to withstand the test of time.
Time is pure luxury.
Artisans at House of Nimo take their time to bring the most delicate pieces of pashmina to life with their years of experience. The time they have dedicated to their craft is a luxury. Instead, they spend their experience and sentiments into every pashmina they work on.
